DOCTOR CHARGED WITH BRIBING TROOPER FOR DRUG PROBE DATA.(Local)

State Police arrested a 38-year-old Glens Falls Hospital surgeon Tuesday night on a felony charge of bribing a trooper in an attempt to obtain confidential police documents concerning a narcotics investigation.

The physician was identified by police as William Charles Brender of 115 Maple St., Glens Falls. Police described him as a plastic surgeon on the staff of Glens Falls Hospital.

Brender was charged with third- degree bribery, State Police Investigator Robert Stedman said.
